The Real Deal

So I decided to try the scanning with a wallet, since the whole "turning black" threat seemed a little fishy.

Voila! No blackness at all. Here are the real poses:

Picture Day!

Daisy got her pictures taken today. She is 6 months old now, and they turned out so good! Sadly, as we were taking our pictures home, the photographer told us that the paper they had switched to purposely turned back when scanned (to prevent costumers from buying hundreds of dollars of pictures, scanning them the next day and returning them).
I told him about my blog, and he said I could take a picture of the pictures... and well, here are the results. I had to angle the camera a little to tone down the glare, and one of them wasn't the sharpest focus, but you get the idea. They really did turn out sweet. Grandma's and Grandpa's can be assured one of these pictures in real life, but if you fall into the "other" category, email me and you'll get one while supplies last!

Here's the Scoop

She sits up.
She eats cereal AND fruit (bananas, pears, and peaches so far)
She takes a bottle like second nature with her Elizabeth, and likes to hold it herself.
She rolls over at will.
She sits up nearly unassisted.
She has two, count 'em, TWO, teeth, enabling Mommy to say she now has "teeth," which makes a lot more sense than when she would tell people that Daisy had "tooth."
She likes things with tags, like her burp clothes, or toys with fabric tags.
She likes her Baby Cell phone.
She loves talking to herself in the mirror.
She tries to drink whatever Mommy or Daddy is drinking.
If we are late in giving her a shower/bath, she tends to fall asleep while being washed.

So now you're all caught up. On to the latest pictures:

This is a hat I made for Hali, Jason's brother's little girl. Hali's mom sent them back to us, along with some mittens I've made. By the time it's cold enough to wear them here, they will be too small for Daisy. So I got the pictures in now.

This is a bath towel Grandma Penny bought for Daisy before she was born. She thought it looked like the costume given to the kid in the movie The Christmas Story. I think she's right.

Daisy's still trying to get used to solids. I don't think she understands that this whole spoon feeding thing will one day take the place of nursing. I'm finally using the chair my mom gave me at my baby shower... works pretty nice. Doesn't make the peaches taste any better, apparrently.

Daisy has so many pretty dresses for Sunday, and I'm always meaning to take her picture... but we're always running late for church, and by the time we get home, I've forgotten. But I remembered today.

Daisy at Daycare

The other day on the phone, my mom pointed out that I haven't written a whole lot about what Daisy is up to lately- what she is doing, and what she's growing to like/dislike, milestones, etc.

I promise a big post like that is coming up very, very soon. Right now, the demanding little diva is crying and wanting to be picked up, so I can only neglect her long enough to post these pictures of her and her FABULOUS daycare provider, Elizabeth.

We love Elizabeth. Daisy just adores her, and she has been so great and flexible... it makes a world of difference to know that she's in such capable hands when I have to be a work.

Here are a few pics of Daisy from today when I picked her up. The lovely lady in the pictures is, of course, Elizabeth, and the little boy is her older son, Andrew (whom Daisy is just crazy about, too!).
